Lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Today, more than 35 million Americans are living with a lung disease. Some of the more common causes of lung disease are smoking, asbestos, environmental pollution and radon.

People who have lung problems should see a doctor. If you have a lung problem, your doctor may be able to help you. In many instances, a consultation with a physician who specializes in the diagnosis in treatment of lung diseases (pulmonologist) is necessary.
